As it was Columbus Day this week, it seemed like a good time to take a trip to Italy. Alas, this is just a virtual vacation, and a working one at that as this week I was busy adding some Italian themed designs to my Zazzle shop, specifically Venice-themed designs featuring Venetian masks as well as gondolas and gondoliers.

A Mask Mandate

One thing that Venice, Italy is known for is the fabulous masks created there for The Carnival of Venice. These beautiful, elaborate creations certainly put store-bought Halloween masks to shame. I had fun creating my illustration of a Venetian carnival mask, and thought it was perfect for decorating masquerade ball invitations and party supplies. This coordinated set comes in two color combinations. Choose from dusty purple and cream or black and white. These masquerade ball invites and party supplies are easy to personalize with your own party details and are designed for charities and non-profit organizations looking to raise money with their own masquerade ball fundraiser or masked ball themed gala dinners.  You can view the whole Masquerade Ball Fundraiser Collection here.

A Romantic Gondola Ride

Of course what Venice is really known for is its canals and the gondolas that journey through them. I enjoyed creating two different styles of gondola and gondolier illustrations for Zazzle with a realistic full color illustration of a gondolier and his craft and a simple silhouette style illustration of a gondola. These Italian themed designs can be found on a host of party supplies and invitations that are perfect for celebrations in Italian restaurants or anything with a Venezia theme. For those that are passionate about Venice or their Italian ancestry you’ll also find a host of personalized gifts featuring illustrations of gondolas as well as some featuring my Venetian mask graphic. I invite you to check out the Venice, Italy Collection on Zazzle to do a little virtual traveling of your own to see all the different Venice themed items available.
