Had a blast at PLA!

»Posted by on Mar 16, 2012 in Events | 6 comments

I want to say thanks to my awesome publisher, Flux, as well as to Stephen and Katie who are staffing the Llewellyn/Flux/Midnight Ink booth at PLA for making yesterday such a perfect day. I had a great time signing advanced copies of Ferocity Summer. I met friendly librarians, fellow writers and all sorts of interesting folks from all over the country. I also got to see some my friends and fellow author buddies. Margie Gelbwasser, Charlotte Bennardo and Natalie Zaman were all signing books at the Flux booth as well. What a fun day! We have to do this again some...

It’s March, and the NYC Teen Author Festival is Just Around the Corner

»Posted by on Mar 1, 2012 in Events | 0 comments

March is a great month for bookish activities. There’s Dr. Seuss’s birthday, the Public Library Association conference and don’t forget the NYC Teen Author Festival.  I am so happy to be participating in the festival this year. From Monday, March 26 through Saturday, March 31 there will be readings and panel discussions at libraries throughout New York City. Then the week caps off with one big huge mega (really, the thing’s ginormous) signing at Books of Wonder on Sunday, April 1. For more information on the festival or to stay in the loop visit the NYC Teen Author Festival on Facebook. (Oh, and even if you had “liked” the NYC Teen Author Facebook page before, you’ll have to go back and re-like the page since due to some...

It’s still about three months before Ferocity Summer will be out in the bookstores, but my first official promotion event for my second novel is just over a month away. Events-a-palooza

»Posted by on Nov 9, 2011 in Events | 0 comments

It seems the palooza tagline has been used for all manner of events. I wonder if any enterprising equine enthusiasts (how’s that for alliteration?) have had an Appaloosa-palooza. If they haven’t they certainly should. Well, there won’t be any appaloosas (sorry, equine enthusiasts) but that’s about the only thing there won’t be at this Saturday’s YA-Palooza right here in downtown Clinton, NJ. I’ll be joining fellow YA authors Charlotte Bennardo, Kristi Cook, Amy Holder, Kathy McCullough and Natalie Zaman for this event which runs from 1 to 3. Enjoy lunch with the authors, answer fun trivia questions, win prizes and get a jump start on your holiday shopping at this fun event.  The Clinton Bookshop is located at 12 E. Main...

Book Birthdays

»Posted by on Jul 12, 2011 in Books, Events | 4 comments

Why are my lips coated with sugar? Because today is the official book birthday for Bad Taste in Boys by one of my good online friends, Carrie Harris. Carrie’s the fearless leader of the Class of 2K11 and her debut YA novel is made out of awesomeness and zombies and sugar lips. Happy (belated) book birthday to another good online friend and fellow Fluxian, Medeia Sharif whose debut Bestest. Ramadan. Ever. came out on Friday! Speaking of Fluxians, although Sirenz by Charlotte Bennardo and Natalie Zaman has been out for a little while, the big book birthday party is set for Thursday night, and since these sirens live so close to me (and there is the promise of cake) , I’m looking forward to attending their launch party in person. It’s a busy week...

Headed to the Stroudsburg Borders Tomorrow

»Posted by on Jun 17, 2011 in Events | 4 comments

I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s book signing at the Borders in Stroudsburg, PA. I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar KidLit Authors Club members and getting to meet some others. I’m also looking forward to being back up in the Poconos and seeing some old friends who have promised to stop by. I like nice weather as much as the next person, but if say between the hours of one and three tomorrow it was a little bit less nice, maybe the sort of weather that made you feel like spending some time in a bookstore, I would not complain. Check it out, the Pocono Record did a nice article on tomorrow’s event and the KidLit Author’s Club. Click here for the...
