Although the calendar assures me that summer has not yet arrived, it feels like summer in this part of the world. Part of the fun I’ll be having this summer is heading off to libraries book stores and other fun bookish places to promote Popular.
This weekend I’ll spend some time Saturday afternoon with fellow YA authors Beth Fantaskey, Amy Holder and Jennifer R. Hubbard at the Borders Express at the Exton Square Mall in Pennsylvania for a group book signing. Although the weather will be sunny I’m hoping the heat might drive some folks into the mall’s air conditioning, at least during the early afternoon, like say from 1-3 when conveniently you’ll be able to pick up some signed books from some awesome YA authors.
Sunday, I’m excited to be participating in BooksNJ 2011. This is a big annual book festival hosted by the Paramus Public Library in Paramus, NJ and it promises to be an amazing day. The event runs from 1 to 5 Sunday afternoon. In addition to signing copies of Popular. I’ll be participating in some literary panels with some other talented authors. At 2:45 I’ll join Janice Harayda, Todd Ritter, Ellen Meister, Charlotte Bennardo and Natalie Zaman for a panel titled: The Impact of the Internet on Writing and Publishing: Blogging and Book Trailers. Then at 4:15 I’ll join Ellen Jensen Abbott and Margie Gelbwasser for a panel titled: Breaking Into the Teen Scene: What Is It Like Being a Newcomer?
As always, if you’re anywhere nearby and can make it over for either of these events, I’d love to see you. And if you can’t, well, I’ve just finished adding some updates to my events schedule and it looks like I will be keeping busy through October.
Have a great weekend!

Sounds exciting. Have fun. I wish I was in the area to meet you all.
Yay! Hoping that we are free so we can see your second panel! See you manana! xxxx
How did it go?? Wish I could’ve been there!
Sounds great, Alissa!! Your summer is off to a most excellent start!!
Thanks, Medeia, and I’m sure one of these days our paths will cross.
