2011 is here, and I’m excited because it’s a big year for me. Of course, one of the highlights of the year is that my first novel will be published in May of this year. Back in 2009 when I first learned my book was going to be published, 2011 felt like an eternity away. So the fact that it has finally arrived is pretty cool.
Even cooler is that already some fellow 2011 debut authors are welcoming their babies into the world. Julia Karr’s XVI is already showing up on bookstore shelves and Terry Lynn Johnson’s Dogsled Dreams is mushing its way to eager readers.
I’m so happy to be in such great company with this year’s exciting crop of debut YA and MG titles. Here’s a teaser glimpse of what we have to look forward to in 2011 from my fellow Elevensies:
